Foundations of Workplace Success: Transitions (Transitions) is the next 

stage in the FWS series, designed for students who've completed Foundations

of Workplace Success (Foundations) and are ready to move from getting a job to

building a career. Where Foundations covers the essentials, mindset, professional conduct, personal branding, career exploration, Transitions goes further: navigating the labour market, adapting to change, and thriving once you're actually in the workplace.

Across two units, students learn how to read labour market trends and spot growth industries, apply for jobs with confidence using proven techniques like STAR and CAR, and manage the personal side of career decisions, from unexpected life events to financial planning. They'll also build the skills that keep a career moving: handling feedback, developing resilience, understanding workplace culture, and knowing their rights and responsibilities under real Australian legislation.

Transitions is developed in alignment with the SCSA Careers and Employability General Year 12 syllabus (Units 3 & 4), covering the Employability Skills and Career Knowledge and Understanding components, with assessment designed around the same task types schools are required to use (investigations, job application and interview tasks, and response tasks).

Like every Impowrd program, Transitions is standards-aligned and teacher-ready: no extra prep, no guesswork, just a program your school can pick up and deliver with confidence. All programs in our FWS series are a resource for teachers to deliver the learning outcomes for the relevant Careers & Employability Syllabus. Completion of this program does not automatically provide WACE points in Western Australia. Refer to SCSA's website for the full details on obtaining WACE credits.

Completion of FWS is a prerequisite for Transitions, ensuring students enter with the foundational skills the Year 12 syllabus builds on.
